Education
Dimitrios Kosmopoulos received B. Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1997 and the PhD degree from the same institution in 2002.
Employment
Dimitrios Kosmopoulos is currently Professor at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, at the University of Patras. His previous affiliations include the University of Patras, Department of Cultural Heritage Managmenet and New Technologies, the Technical Educational Institute of Crete - Department of Informatics Engineering, Foundation for Research and Technology (ICS-FORTH), the Rutgers University, Computer Science Department, CBIM Lab and the University of Texas at Arlington, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He has been a research scientist in the Computational Intelligence Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications in the NCSR Demokritos. He was also affiliated with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). He was employed as a researcher and developer for various companies and institutions.
Teaching
Past teaching appointments: University of Texas at Arlington (Adjunct Assistant Professor). Assistant Professor at the University of Central Greece (Dept of Computer Science and Bioinformatics). Lecturer at the University of Peloponnese (Dept of Computer Science and Technology) - robotics, artificial intelligence, intelligent systems. Assistant Professor at the Technical Educational Institute of Athens (Dept of Computer Science) - image processing, programming.
